| Vietnam
- a potential market for the enterprises and investor |
In
Vietnam the economic growth rate in the early 6 months in 2008 reached
6.5% and was forecasted to be 7.0% in 2008. |
With
the open policy and activities to build up a healthy investment environment
of the government, Vietnam is still a destination for overseas investors.
It is also a potential market with huge demands from the economy of over
80 millions people. These advantages have been shown obviously by the
FDI funds registered for the early half of 2009 which gets 31.6 billion
dollars, by 3.7 times in comparison with the same period last year and
exceeded that in 2007 by 48%. In expectation, FDI in 2008 will increase
to 45 billion USD, by more than double compared with 2007. |
With
respect to the automobile industry, in the first 6 months of 2008, Vietnam
has imported more than 42,000 of fully assembled vehicles (by 5.1 times
more than that time last year) and about 90,000 of sets of spare part
(by 3.2 times more than the same period last year), the overall price
is 1.6 billion USD, by 3.6 times compared to the same period last year. |
Meanwhile,
developing opportunities to all of the enterprises that operating in motorcycle
industry are still equal. Vietnam's market consumes about 2 million motorcycles
annually; however, the majorities are still concentrating on urban market.
Therefore, the rural markets are still very potential to domestic firms.
FDI enterprises, who have advantages in fund and technology, would not
only enhance productivity and widen their market but also actively invest
in auxiliary industry. |
In
the same period, Petro Vietnam has exploited 7.19 million tons of raw
oil and 3.62 billion m3 of gas. Export turn-over got 5,720 million USD,
increased 55% in comparison with the same period last year. Proceeds in
the first 6 months of PVN made up more than 24.7 % of GDP. |
